There are so many people around us
But everyone lives in his own world.
The gathering between us in this life
Is just a karmic connection.
No matter how close we are
Everyone is walking on his own path.
Even if there are intersections,
They are just short encounters.
Like two crossing straight lines,
They gradually will grow further apart.

 Everyone lives a lonely life in this world.
No one will have company forever.
Everyone is busy with their own lives.
No one will keep someone in mind forever.
We take care of our sorrows and joys
No one always cares about others entirely

We can keep warm by a fire if we are cold.
But, if our hearts are cold,
They can't be warmed no matter how big the fire is.
When we feel lonely, even a room full of friends can't drive away the shadow of loneliness.
Only recitation of Amitabha's name can.

 There is only one person in this world,
Who is always with us,
Accompanying us quietly
In all lifetimes, past, present, and future.
He cares only about us;
Cares about our joys and sorrows;
Cares about our birth, aging, illness, and death;
Cares about our emancipation from the cycle of birth and death;
Cares about everything concerning us.
He is Namo Amitabha Buddha.
He is in the name we recite.
Whether we see him or not,
Amitabha Buddha is in his name.
Without coming or going, he is always by our side silently.

 Each recitation of Namo Amitabha
Is our rendezvous with the Buddha.
Every time we recite gently, [he’s there with us].

 Amitabha is waiting for us in his name.
Having faith is our own business,
Which has nothing to do with others.
Amitabha-recitation is something between us and Amitabha Buddha,
Which has nothing to do with others either.

 Everyone in the world
Has his own Amitabha Buddha
Who will always only care about you and stay with you.
You are his only son.
Even if the Amitabha reciter is by himself,
He won’t be lonely on the road to the Pure Land.
Because there are innumerable Buddhas keeping us company,
And immeasurable number of bodhisattvas guarding us by our side.
