An Offering to the Buddha with a Borrowed Painting: Spring blossoms first in the Land of the Ignorant
Painting: Feng Zi-kai
Words: Master Jingzong
The Tathagata sympathizes with afflicted sentient beings,
especially the wicked ones trapped in the wretched realms.
The ignoramus who is illiterate, foolish, and cultivates no Dharma path,
because of his spiritual poverty will certainly benefit most fully from
the Spring of Amitabha’s love.
The wise one who practices a Dharma path and dwells in his ivory tower of scholarship,
wanders, lost, around his city of knowledge,
and separates himself from the Spring of Amitabha Buddha,
totally unawares that the Spring has come and gone.
