Your life is not fixed.
Your karma is not final.
Your destiny is not unchangeable.

Through Amitabha’s vow,
the net of karma is cut,
the course of fate redirected,
and our destiny is transformed.

If we do not recite Amitabha’s name,
our lives remain bound by karma,
and the cycle of birth and death has no end.

If we recite his name, our destiny is transformed.
However formidable our karma may be,
the power of Amitabha’s vow is mightier still.

By reciting Amitabha’s name with single-minded faith,
we entrust our lives to the Buddha.
The net of karma snaps at once,
the course of destiny turns,
the power of the vow opens a shortcut,
and we break free from the chains of cause and effect.

The joys and sorrows we encounter,
the bitterness and sweetness we taste,
all arise from causes planted in past lives.

Without the Dharma,
they arise and pass away according to conditions,
ultimately fading into futility.

But now we have heard Amitabha’s Primal Vow.
We realize that this life is no accident,
this karma is not fixed,
and this destiny is not final.

Though destiny seems etched with its mark,

each life bearing its own sign,

we do not rely on fate — we rely on the Buddha.

What seems to be a predestined path
is in truth the path of Amitabha’s compassionate deliverance.
And through that path, our destiny is transformed.

If we take refuge in Amitabha,
our lives are no longer empty.

If our hearts entrust themselves to the Buddha,
this very life is transformed.

To encounter Amitabha Buddha in this life is a blessing.
To realize that destiny can be transformed through reciting his name is wisdom.
To entrust our destiny to the Buddha and thereby transform it is the Way.
